October has always been the beginning of our season with a change in the weather, the leaves starting to fall, although this year with the amount of rain we have had, the diary has remained busy and we kept going. I’m glad to say that over the years many of our clients have stuck with us, we have a good repeat business with established customers, and this keeps us busy, along with recommendation's and new enquiry’s.
So the heavy rain has blocked many a down pipe this has accounted for 50% of our business this month, blocked gutters is always a problem and you should never underestimate the damage a constant dripping from blocked gutters and blocked down pipes can have on your property.
A new client this month in Farnham, the recommendation from a close neighbour.
A broken corner joint along with a full gutter, we unblocked the gutters and made sure the down pipes where unblocked, then replaced the old corner joint with a new one, it was easy fix but had been left like that for few years, the constant dripping had rotten away the wooden fascia boards, although we resolved the dripping and cleared the gutters think the fascia now needs replacing.
Another new client from Alton this time round, the client rang due to water cascading down the side of there house every time we had heavy rain, so l popped by to have a look between jobs and arranged a good time. The issue was a build up of moss in the in gutters which restricted the water flow when we had heavy rain, add to that a blocked down pipe resulted in the gutters filling up with rain water and cascading down one side of there property. So we cleared gutters, unblocked the down pipe, then carried out our usual tests after to ensure everything was working and free flowing, there was also an extension at the rear where we swept the roof and left everything clean & tidy.
Over to Haselmere for another lady that has her gutters cleared every year, it’s a really nice house in Surrey but is surrounded by Cedar trees which means this time of year the gutters are full of pine needles. The gutters are bulging at the seems every year, once again everything is cleared by hand, tested after to make sure gutters are clean and down pipes unblocked.
