On The Road With Deans Gutters (April)

April normally starts the increase in our gutter & fascia cleaning service, most years April see’s the start of settled weather and it’s time to get those outside cleaning jobs done.  April also see’s the start of the sycamore seedlings sprouting up in clients gutters, especially in and around the Farnham, Haselmere & Petersfield areas.

One of our jobs in Haslemere is a prime example of the sycamore seedlings, on this particular job the clients gutters were fitted with hedgehog gutter brushes, giving the seedlings a good bed to get rooted into. The access was good

and with a team of two everything was getting cleared by hand, the schedule was simple, remove all the hedgehog brush’s, clear the gutters, check and unblock any down pipes, clean the hedgehog brush’s and refit them. It certainly is a messy job but the results well worth the effort. After everything went back, a good tidy up, another happy client.

One of our regular clients in Farnham had recommended us to one of there neighbours, so l headed down to meet them beforehand like l always do, to check out ladder access, check out any repairs and to give the client a fixed price and then book them in for the work to be carried out. On this occasion it was a standard gutter clearance, check down pipes and small repair, clean all the fascia, gutters, soffits and down pipes.  As always a team of two, cleared all gutters by hand, unblock one down pipe, and a small repair on one gutter joint. On this occasion the gutter cleaning was hard work, our cleaning process has been the same for years now, mild scrub followed by scrub with UPVC cleaner, then quick change of cleaning brush, then time for good old fashioned elbow grease, once again it certainly isn’t a easy job but the results where well worth it.

Another recommendation from one of our clients in Farnham, once again always go to check everything out beforehand, with 90% of our gutters cleared by hand I’m always looking at ladder access and just double check everything is safe for us to carry out the work. The main issue on this job was a blocked down pipe at the front of the house, so as always team of two to carry out the work. Schedule for work was to clear all gutters by hand, check all down pipes and flush through with water after, then tackle the blockage. The gutters where full but was a standard clearance for us with no issues, a blocked down pipe isn’t always a simple job. On this occasion the down pipe was blocked at the bottom, so l had to take the down pipe apart from the wall so l could get to the blockage, after 20 mins of taking my time managed to get everything unblocked, with the down pipe 100% free flowing again, another happy client.

Was a very busy April for us at Deans Gutters with the diary booked up two weeks in advance for most of the month. Always good to visit old clients and to have plenty of enquires from new customers, next up May more clearing & cleaning.
